Review - BHCosmetics Cool Matte Eyeshadow Palette

So, ok, I'm not a girly girl... I'm sure a lot of you have figured that out by now. And although I play for the tomboy team, I have always worn eye makeup. That's my thing. :)
I remember when I was first "OK'd" to wear makeup by my mother. Surprisingly I didn't go overboard with it, and I still never do. If you look in my purse the only makeup products you will find are eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow. My eyes have always been my favorite feature, and I love enhancing them!

My eye color has always varied, almost seemingly with the seasons. At times they were dark brown, and other times, a vivid green. Lately, they have stayed an in between color, but no complaints here, it's a great color.

So as much as I love eye makeup, I was always a little timid about experimenting. No one wants to walk out of the house looking like a clown with blue eyeshadow up to their brows. I'm not a fan of matching eyeshadow with your clothing, it should definitely accent your features.

In my teenage years, I stuck to solid browns or subtle purples. It wasn't until I graduated high school that I started blending and mixing colors, adding golds, greens, and pinks to the mix. I'm still extremely timid with blue, although I have tried it, I don't personally feel I can pull it off.

When I had the opportunity to check out BHCosmetics 88 Color Palette (in Cool Matte), I was definitely interested. I love experimenting with colors, and with 88 to chose from, the possibilities are endless!

My first mission was to obviously, try the colors I usually use. So I went for a shimmering green, brown, and gold to blend.

I applied the green first, from the corner of the eyelid to the center, and then blended the brown to the edges. Then I took the gold and blended the top and edges of the lid. I love how shimmery the colors are (you can see the difference when I use the flash!), and how easy they are to apply. The included brushes were great for applying the color, but not so great for blending. I had to use one of my other brushes for the gold eyeshadow. The included brushes are kind of stiff, so application is very basic. But they hold color well, which is fantabulous! Here are the pics after applying the 3 colors. I used different lighting so you can see the full effect in different perspectives. These colors are amazing!

Mission #2: A bright and bold purple. Like I said before, I'm hesitant with color expirimentation, but I spotted that purple the second I opened up the palette, and was dying to try it!

Love it! It's bold, but it's the perfect green accent. After looking at the colors, I chose my 2 accents. Black and brown.

I don't own black eyeshadow, so for the sake of experimenting, why not? It went on a little thicker than I expected, but the end result was awesome.

In short, I love this palette! The color variance is amazing and the possibilities are endless. The eyeshadow goes on smooth, and is far from messy. The subtle sparkle in the colors pop, and accentuate your eyes in the perfect way. The built in mirror and the sturdy plastic casing make it easy to have access to your makeup anywhere!
